The Arthur Terry National Teaching School is a growing partnership of schools in the North Birmingham, Staffordshire and Warwickshire areas. Working with a range of organisations in the region we have built our capacity to share and develop our skills and expertise, making a demonstrable impact on our learning communities.
Designated as a SCITT in 2012, we have successfully trained over 300 teachers. Our SCITT teachers are highly sought after and our latest data shows that 95% have been employed in the region with many going on to secure leadership roles. The SCITT’s success has been built on building a robust collaborative partnership with regional schools, enhanced by a strong delivery team of outstanding subject specialists, who are still practising teachers.
As a National Teaching School, CPLD is at the heart of our Teaching School offer. Our mission statement – to develop outstanding teachers from ITT to headship – has driven our programme development which has comprised a range of both national and internally-developed programmes, including the latest National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) and the Early Career Framework for our NQTs.
We have a bank of highly qualified experts who work with us to support teacher development and school improvement at all levels. Our alliance and team continue to grow and flourish, recognising that we are stronger together.
