About the Hub
The Arthur Terry Teaching School Hub North Birmingham is one of 11 teaching school hubs in the West Midlands, serving schools in North Birmingham.
Our Work
Over the last 12 years, we have worked collaboratively with a range of organisations across the region to develop and share skills and expertise whilst making a demonstrable and sustainable impact on learning communities.
Our core purpose as the Arthur Terry TSH North Birmingham is to deliver teacher and leadership training and development, focussing in particular on the Department for Education’s (DfE) ‘golden thread’ of ITT, the Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications.
Since our designation in 2012 as a SCITT, we have successfully trained over 300 teachers. Our SCITT teachers are highly sought after and our latest data shows that 95% have been employed in the region with many going on to secure leadership roles. The SCITT’s success has been built on building a robust collaborative partnership with regional schools, enhanced by a strong delivery team of outstanding subject specialists, who are still practising teachers.
Working with the Education Development Trust and Ambition we deliver the Early Career Framework to schools in North Birmingham alongside the full suite of NPQs, including the new specialist NPQs in Leading Teacher Development, Leading Teaching and Leading Behaviour and Culture.
To further support schools, we also offer appropriate body registration and additional bespoke CPLD courses, meeting the needs of schools in North Birmingham.
No matter what stage of your career, teachers and support staff at schools in North Birmingham can access the training and development they need through the Arthur Terry TSH North Birmingham. Please get in contact to find out how you can access funded face-to-face and online professional development support for your teachers.
