Claim ITT Mentor Funding

Schools who have released mentors for ITT mentor training during the 24-25 academic year can start to claim their funding now.

Many colleagues have completed mentor training with Arthur Terry SCITT during the 24-25 academic year. This training is funded by the DfE, and schools can now claim for this through the new ‘Claim Funding for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Mentor Training’ digital service, which launched on 24th April.

DfE are taking a phased approach to onboarding schools and users to this service, so schools should follow the steps below:

  • Wait for an email invitation to log-in to the service (this will go to your main contact on the DfE sign in service)
  • Use your DfE sign-in to access the service:
  • If you aren’t the appropriate user, then log-in and add the colleague who needs to submit a claim
  • Claim for ITT mentors only
  • Ensure the name of the mentor matches their name on the Teacher Register, for example, if the mentor has married and changed their name, the register will need to be updated before submitting a claim.

This claim window will close in the mid- July 2025. DfE will undertake further assurance on a random sample of at least ten percent of schools and may ask for evidence of the stated expenditure. Further detail can be found in the mentor guidance.

Arthur Terry SCITT will then need to verify that the hours you claim for match our records on the DfE service, so we strongly recommend that you only claim for the hours detailed above.
