Our Toolkit for Schools

This toolkit is designed to support schools with recruitment within their local communities, alumni, and from the wider market.

These resources are free to all schools and can be adapted to suit your context and needs.

What is this toolkit for?

We want to support schools with recruitment by supporting effective communication, supporting collaborative partnerships and by driving engagement with teacher training and ongoing professional development, across North Birmingham.

As part of our strategic role to support all teacher training across North Birmingham, we have collaborated with Teaching School hubs and schools across the West Midlands to develop a bank of resources to support schools with the recruitment of new staff and retention of existing colleagues.

We believe that teacher training is vital to sustainable recruitment.

In any case, these resources have been designed for use by schools to support their recruitment of staff at all levels.

We hope they are helpful and support your school.

Build Partnerships – West Midlands

It is essential for schools to build and foster strong relationships with their local and regional training providers. A partnership with an ITT provider is probably the most powerful way to improve and sustain effective recruitment of high-quality teachers.

If your school wants to get more involved in ITT by hosting placements and working with an accredited ITE provider, you can access 19 providers across the West Midlands by completing our Get Involved tool:

If you are an ITE provider who needs support with placement capacity, use our tool to access support from Teaching School Hubs across the West midlands:
